DARTA: Disaster Assistance Response Team of Anderson
The function of DARTA is to prepare Anderson County Health Department
for an intentional or unintentional event that would require setting
up Mass Clinics. Persons from LEPC; law enforcement; fire departments;
local governments; EMA; TEMA; EMS; and East Tennessee Regional
Health Department provide valuable insight for the ongoing planning
process.
ACHD is required to open two Mass Clinics if the governor of
Tennessee determines there is a need. Each clinic may be expected
to provide vaccines, immune globulin or medications for as many
as 5,000 persons per day for ten days. The clinics require many
volunteers (300/clinic) to operate smoothly. Persons wishing to
volunteer may complete the attached form.
