FLU
VACCINE COMING SOON TO THE ANDERSON COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT
Clinton, Tenn. - Influenza, or flu, season is right around the
corner, and the Anderson County Health Department is ready to offer
flu vaccine to area residents. Flu vaccine clinics will be held
at the Anderson County Health Department Monday thru Friday from
8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This clinic is designed to allow people
to be able to get in and out quickly.
“It takes about two weeks to be protected after you get
the flu vaccine, so it’s a good idea to get the vaccine as
soon as it’s available,” said Art Miller, Director “However,
we will continue to vaccinate residents through the winter, or
as long as we have vaccine available. The Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention recommends that everyone 6 months of age and older
get their yearly flu vaccine as soon as vaccines become available
in their community.”
Flu shots (and/or) FluMist nasal vaccine will be provided during
the vaccination clinic. The FluMist is for 18 years and younger
only. There will be a charge of $13.70 for children under 19 years
of age and 19 years and older will be $32.00 for flu vaccine. Pneumonia
vaccine is available for a charge of $68.00. We do not accept any
private insurance. We do accept TennCare and the Red White and
Blue Medicare cards for the flu clinic.
Appointments must be scheduled in general clinic for the flu clinic.
The Anderson County Health Department will start booking appointments
immediately for the vaccination clinic. Please call the health
department at (865) 425-8801 to book your appointment.
