Vital Records Division

Birth records are available for persons born in the State of Tennessee. Short forms are available from January 1949-Present for all births that occurred in any county in the state. The short form has all the necessary basic information. The current fee is $7.00 for the first copy and $4.00 for each additional copy purchased at the same time.

Death records are available for any death that occurred in Anderson County from January 2001-present. The fee is $7.00 per certificate. To purchase a death certificate, you must be an immediate family member, funeral home, or legal representative. Additionally, you will need a copy of your driver’s license if cause of death is required. If you are not a family member, you will also need documentation of your need for the certificate.
